For the second year, the International School and The Chinese School have been awarded funding via the Federal Charter School Program by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The CSP grant is designed to support new charter schools in their initial phases of development, from planning phases through the first three years of operations. Awarded funds will support the purchase of new equipment and materials, professional development for the school staff, and curriculum development. We are looking forward to implementing these two grants this spring and transforming our instructional practice and student learning as a result.
These funds will support projects such as the Chinese School’s Library Media Center, Technology, Literacy Development and Assessment, and Positive Behavior Intervention Support. The International School will also use the funding for a Library Media Center and technology. The International School will also work on translation of textbooks and other instructional materials into target languages, teacher and student recruitment, and professional development among other areas.
