The French School will be hosting a Music Festival on June 7th (for Kindergarteners and 1st Grades) and June 14th (for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades).
It will start at 1:30 pm in the auditorium on both dates and will feature 3 music groups:
- Mrs Mariana Lanes Wood (violin teacher and director of the Music Immersion Program for SLLIS) will open the show leading her students on a gorgeous violin recital.
- This will be followed by a short piano recital given by Mr. Terry Kasper most skilled with a strong classical background. Then we will have a 15 minutes intermission/ snack time for our students.
- The second part will be a concert of traditional Celtic music performed by the Saint Louis Irish Session Players, who will provide our students’ ears and curiosity with great sets of Celtic dance tunes and songs from Ireland, Scotland and Brittany (France).
The idea is to have our students experience the thrill of a live music festival, with its sound system, intermission, bands, and of course tunes and songs! It is also the occasion for you to help our school develop a solid music program and to purchase a new sound system for our future events. There will be a tip jar and raffle tickets (2$ each) to be purchased for this purpose. Raffle prizes include free guitar lessons, CDs of the band playing, free vocal techniques lessons and more!
