In Brazil the Festa Junina (Folk Fest) parties are to celebrate the saints Anthony, John and Peter with lots of Brazilian traditional foods, drink. Just like Carnival, these festivities involve extravagant costumes, but in this case, it is always peasant costumes. The men dress up as farm boys with large straw hats and the women wear checked dresses with pigtails, freckles and a gap painted between their front teeth. During the festivities, a wedding is celebrated followed by Quadrilha a type of square dance.
