The Missouri sales tax holiday runs from 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, to midnight Sunday, Aug. 5. Qualifying items will be exempt from the state’s 4.225 percent sales tax. Some cities, counties and taxing districts have opted out of the holiday. Illinois will not have the tax holiday this year. St. Louis city has not opted out.
In general, eligible tax-free items include:
- Clothing: any article having a taxable value of $100 or less.
- School supplies, not to exceed $50 per purchase.
- Computer software with a taxable value of $350 or less.
- Personal computers valued at $3,500 or less.
- Computer peripherals valued at $3,500 or less.

The sales tax holiday applies to online purchases or to items that are ordered but not delivered during the tax holiday period, as long as payment is made within that period. The payment must be completed in full during the sales tax holiday period.

In lieu of parents buying school supplies, TFS asks for $25 contribute $25.00 towards the purchase of supplies in an effort to support consistency in the French School. This assures that each child has the appropriate materials and that the materials all ﬁt with the routines and procedures that TFS implements. All you have to do is supply a plain, small backpack, a a water bottle, and a
lunch bag/box if needed.
