Good morning families, bonjour les familles, buenos dias familias,
Thank you to all of the community members who joined us for our facilities expansion announcement yesterday. We are delighted to announce that we will be leasing just under 30,000 square feet of space at 19th and Olive from North American Automotive Services/Napleton Group. This facility was most recently used as a secondary school and is in excellent condition. This spring we will repaint, repair drywall and install new carpeting to make the space feel like home. SLLIS will take possession of the space July 1, 2012.
In order to maintain our budget projections, we have decided that The French School will move all of its students to the new building. Our Board, facilities committee and administration remain committed to identifying the right permanent master campus for SLLIS. We will continue to work on the financial development and identification of our master campus with the reassurance that, with 19th & Olive as our second location, we have ample space for The French School, The Spanish School, The Chinese School and The Japanese School to grow over the next three years.
The PowerPoint presentation last night highlights our 2010 Master Planning Process and illustrates how our decision for 19th & Olive is aligned with that original stakeholder conversation. As we move forward we remain committed to our original mission and vision and will continue to engage stakeholders in conversations about the values that guide our decision-making.
Copies of the PowerPoint presentation are available at the front desk. You may access the file online via Dropbox at this link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20846385/120222%20SLLIS%20Facilities%20Announcement.pptx
Saturday, March 31st from 10am-12pm we will host a family fun tour of our second location and hope that you can join us and envision your family growing with SLLIS.
Thank you for your patience and support for this initial expansion. We have years of growth ahead of us and look forward to serving our children with the most thoughtful, sustainable facilities possible.
